NOTES

this will be sporadic

I create art from a place that is not wholly separate from my mind, but I believe is sourced from something deeper and more integrated than mind alone. I often journal, simply just to understand what I’m thinking in a language other than the tactile and visual.

I think that for this reason, I have always considered my writing as a sort of tool I use for self-clarification. My artwork is built from a connection that develops with material during the process of engaging with it. When I write, I think I’m seeking another way to connect with it beyond embodiment – a way to hold it separately in my hands and study it from an objective distance.
